Hi.
I am thinking of drinking alot of soup and water, eating alot of vegetables and fruits…. Is this a bad diet?
Also, the soup will not be made from stratch.

all the diets in the world arent as good as that for keeping it off.
you need a balanced diet including fibre, carbs, protein and some fat. its about getting the balance right. dont cut out on one particular nutrient.

I cook home made stews, soups,and other meals ie spag bol and curries. How do i know what calories i am am consuming?
I don’t use lots of oil and use lean meat where possible even bulking up my food with more veg ie squash and sweet potatoe. My salt is always meased to the lower end and i don’t drink pop.
15.Avoid using butter on bread, potatoes etc. If you must, use a small amount of margarine.
Also i know that using margarine is 1000% worse for our bodies than using butter so how can you suggest this?
healthy eating is part keeping you healthy. i’m a professional along with my close friend, susan. everyday i eat exactly 2200 calories. the last time i had chocolate was 2005!!
susan has had 5 kids, and due to healthy eating they are he healthest children ever.
hi Jo, i am in the same boat as you, i am trying to loose weight before my friends wedding and i am trying to stick to just fruit, veg and veg soup. I am also taking multivitamins to ensure i am still getting my vital vitamins
I am still unsure to how good for my body it is to eat like this, how long have you been doing it for and how is it going

i think the best way too loose weight is to moderate what u eat and when u exercise if u eat more than u exercise ur gunna put on more weight than u take off.

if your serious about looseing weight i would reconmend lighter life a diet that digs ur pocket a bit, but it works u can do it for weeks and see the diffrence quickly.
or slimfast but in my opion its a waste its starving yourself it does help in some wayys bbuh its not my cup of tea tbh.
or you could start a group and meet people with the same problem ,like weight wachers or rosemary conlley they all have effects in some wat

Hello. I’m not overweight, but i dislike the little bulge i can sometimes see through my clothes. I live with my parents so they’d notice a diet/dramatically increased amount of exercise. I’m cutting down what i eat and keeping a food diary, usual intake is about 1500 calories. still, that little bump remains. i do sit ups too. 140 a day.

Don’t feel alone, most folks have that little bulge, some ‘a little bigger than others’
Cutting down on your calorie intake certainly is a good start however don’t forget to feed your body the nutrients it is missing. Even if we ate all day everyday and as much fruit and veg as we chose, we may still not get all the nutrients out of the food that we would expect to get.
A proven method which I found, used and still use is to substitute my breakfast and lunch with a nutritious protein shake blended with fruits and veg. I eat 5 fruits a day and have a meal bar at mid morning and mid afternoon. I end my day with cooking a healthy meal, low in fat and still have a glass of wine with my dinner.
Like you, I keep to no more than 1500 calories per day and I have lost over 10lbns recently and kept it off.
I’m a firm believer in not ‘killing’ yourself to look great or to get rid of what might seem ‘ a big bulge’. Have fun eating healthy. Have fun looking good.

Hi, i’ve started training for the Race For Life and i’m jogging four nights a week and cycling once a week to train for this. The jogging is slowly increasing (I’m following a detailed schedule) but i’m normally out for an hour alternating jogging and walking. I also walk my dogs most nights. I clean out three of my horses every morning and work at a stables two days a week (apparently this kind of work is good for burning calories!). I also do horse riding 3 times a week in winter (5 or 6 times a week in the summer). So i would have said i’m fairly fit! However since i’ve started jogging and cycling i’ve gained 4Ibs!! Thats in 3 months! During the week i rarely eat more than the GDA of calories but still i’m not losing any weight. I’m not overweight, (i’m 5ft2 and weighed 8st9 last night! However i was wearing fairly heavy clothes so i may only be 8st7) but i just want to be more toned up. I really want to tone my stomach and arms but my wrist is pretty week since i broke it 8 months ago and i don’t feel confident putting too much pressure on it, apart from horse riding. Would sit ups be good for toning my stomach or is there a better way??

argh, u guys are so lucky. i have a very very high motabolism and have serious difficulty putting aany weight on, i take in about 4000cals a day and still cant put any weight on, i was just browsing through the internet and this site came up, had a wee read thru n stuff n just thought id say sumthing
weight problem is one of the worst thing to deal with as it is not reconised as a addiction the same way as a alcoholic or drug addict ect.. but the worst thing you can do is starve yourself as your bodys metabolic rate will slow down as it does not know when it will next be fed it start storing your food which is the opposite effect to what you want the best thing is to eat little and often but sadly it has to be the healthy stuff lol

I’ve got a great diet which I learnt of while living in Germany. It’s called low fat 30, and allows you to eat most of the things you would anyway. It works on the principle that your body does not need more than 30% of your calories to come from fat. If the % of fat calories is more than 30, your body will not burn the fat, but will store verything above the 30%.
To work out what you can and can’t eat :
Look at how many calories is in the food. Look at how much fat is in the food. Multiply the fat number by 30, and if this is higher than the calorie number, you can’t eat it. If the fat x 30 is less than the calorie number, you can eat as much as you want of it.
If you try it you will notice a difference within a couple of weeks, and the best thing is, it allows you to enjoy a balanced diet with all of the food groups involved.
Hey, i am only young but there is alot of peer pressure at the moment to have the best bikini body as it is reaching summer, i just need a diet that i can loose a few pounds, and thats not going to make me look like a stick. but that i cant feel comfortable in a bikini without my stomache peeping out, i have a sweet tooth, and i suppose i need to cut down on that, but the problem is i go on all these easy diet pages but all the foods i dont have or are to expensive, i just need things i can swap with. and what sort of exercises i can do with out access to a gym! thankyou!

many people think that the less they eat the thinner they get! but on the contrary, when one starves him/her self the body will be on it’s alert so when any type of food is total absorbed by the body and it is stored as fat. so when wendy says that she only eat 450 calories and burns 600…. she is only doing harm! yes she does get thin because exercise is the only way of loosing fat, but she is starving her body, she can end up in a case of anorexia! combining a healthy diet (not only fruit and vegetables, but meat fish chicken, eggs, and even a small amount of sweets) and a great fitness work out will make you have the body type you have always wanted.
